All The Idol News You Can Handle

  • Simon told Extra that if Sanjaya wins, he'll quit Idol. I thought it was funny. You can see the story here.
  • From the official Fox/American Idol site: "Legendary British artists Lulu and Peter Noone will work with the top 11 finalists next week on American Idol.... On Tuesday night, the contestants will sing hit songs from the 1960s British pop invasion." As part of the Wednesday results show, Lulu will perform her hit song "To Sir, with Love," and Noone will perform "There's a Kind of Hush." Ummm... Why?
  • And, according to RealityBlurred.com, not only is Mario Vasquez being accused of sexual harassment claim from a male employee of the show, he also now is filing suit against Fox saying his departure from AI4 was involuntary. Stop Corey Clark-ing it. Nobody cares.

  • And I had to mention this excerpt from a hate mail letter that VoteForTheWorst.com received regarding SANJAYA (notice the correct spelling)

Hi Dave how are you? you are a jerk for piking Sangaya he has the voice of 900 angles i wont you to leave him alone pik your just jeallios that sangaya is cute and your an ugly troll -Chris

But I guess the real question is ... what DO 900 ANGLES sound like? Right angles? Obtuse angles?

Ultra Mega Recap Extravaganza!!!!

Ok ... let's be honest. I've been slacking. So to make up for it, I'll recap all the shows I've been meaning to talk about. Thank god for for Tivo!

The Apprentice - Boring Me By The Second (3/11/07)

Don't get me wrong because I have been a big supporter of the Apprentice. I've watched every season. But moving it to LA & the stupid twist with the losers having to sleep outside ... it just ... doesn't do it for me. The challenges aren't even exciting anymore. This past week, they worked with GNC to do a halftime show during a pro soccer game. I thought both teams were pretty bad but Arrow's was particularly a disaster. Anyone besides me watch the show and go, "I could pull off a better task."??? What does this have to do with overseeing one of Trump's multi-million dollar buildings? Ok anyway, yes - Arrow loses and even though I wouldn't have minded seeing James go, Surya went & I was satisfied. Next week, they apparently do some big Hollywood task so hopefully they regain my interest ... and respect.

American Idol: AHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!! (3/13/07-3/14/07)

This is all I have to say:

America, ARE YOU SERIOUS? Okay, it was one thing with Kevin Covais (aka Chicken Little). But ... seriously. I felt bad for Brandon. He shouldn't have gone yet. Phil looked PISSED to in the bottom 3 but Simon's right - he's got to stop shouting. And back to performance night for a minute ... After 6 seasons, can Ryan/Simon stop doing homosexual exchanges? We get it. You both think the other one is gay. You probably both are. Poor Melinda looked like she wanted to hide behind her stool. If I had it my way the top 6 would be: Melinda, Lakisha, Jordin, Blake, Chris S., and Chris R. We shall see... America, stop listening to votefortheworst.com and stop calling in for Sanjaya. It's MEAN! Thank you.

America's Next Top Model: You Could Be My Candy Girl (3/14/07)

ANTM did my favorite episode last night - THE MAKEOVER episode! I'm such a girly girl in that way. Everyone looked amazing. Poor Jael had to sit in a chair for 8 hours getting a weave before Jai decided he didn't like it and had them cut it out. Then, she found out a good friend of hers overdosed & died. It was NOT a good day for Jael. She talks, looks, acts like she's on drugs too. I don't get why nobody's questioned this yet but ANTM does bring in some whack jobs for models.

The photo challange had the girls naked & portraying desserts. Brittany received high praise again from the judges despite the fact she cried through the makeover, the makeup challenge, and the photo shoot. She might be a crybaby but this chick can TAKE A PICTURE. To see more, click on the photo below to be linked to her portfolio. In the end, Cassandra was sent home for "losing her pretty". Ouch.

Top Design: The Bacardi Party (3/14/07)

Once again, the designers had to work in teams and they were NOT happy about it. They had a cool challenge though - to design a party for Bacardi Limon. One team had: Michael, Cassandra, and Matt while the other featured Andrea, Goyle, and Erik. I did agree with the judges that Michael, Cassandra, and Matt had the better room. It was clean and open and they had an amazing table with lemons inside of it. Andrea, Goyle, and Erik took too much of a risk with their avant-garde style and did not end up impressing the judges. Of the three, I expected Erik to go home the least but there it was - Johnathan Adler uttering the cheesiest words of reality tv: "See ya later, decorator". BLAHHH!!! Goyle really is a genius & I hope that he learns to grow a pair and speak up because he does great work. Though Andrea did a poor job this week, I have been rooting for her to win. She needs to gain my confidence back next week though!

So there you have it. I feel so accomplished now. Back to "working". Check back for a new recap soon!!

Amazing Race: Life Hates Me (3/11/07)

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! It's not fair! My all-time favorite reality competitor, Boston Rob (and wife, Amber) were the last team to arrive. And I'm sorry to tell you, they have been eliminated from the race. Unfortunately for me, I had a crazy night so I only caught the end of the episode. But no worries, people. A real recap is on the way. I had to take a moment to mourn the loss. Dammit! Why couldn't Mirna & Schmirna could've gone?

Gina's Idol Prediction 2007

And now it's time for Gina's Idol Prediction 2007!
Will I be correct?
We'll watch and see...

COULD WIN: Lakisha Jones

SHOULD WIN: Melinda Doolittle

WILL WIN: Blake Lewis

Don't say I didn't call it...

American Idol: A Shocking Night (3/8/07)

Ok well not all shocking. Let me give you the quick recap. Here's who was voted out and JUST missed being the Top 12. If you ask me, last night was the worst night to go.

NOT SHOCKING AT ALL: Antonella Barba
Beautiful girl without the singing chops to cut it. She took a beating from the judges & in the media. She'll probably get more work than many of them.

SOMEWHAT SURPRISING: Jared Cotter
His better days were in the Hollywood round when he sang "Cupid" for the judges. When it came time for the live tv shows, his energy dropped & he bored me. Sorry, Jared.

PRETTY SURPRISING: Sundance Head
Showed a ton of promise in the beginning but really started to become unimpressive. His rendition of "Jeremy" Tuesday night was just bad & I don't blame America for not voting for him either.

SHOCKING: Sabrina Sloan
That cocky girl thought she was staying. She was crying in front of Ryan thinking that she'd feel bad because she made it & Haley didn't. WRONG! I didn't love her En Vogue rendition but she deserved Top 12.

Survivor: Love Many, Trust Few (3/8/07)

Mark Burnett surprised me this reality season ... and not in a good way. First, he makes the Apprentice people sleep in the yard if they lose. Now, on this season of Survivor, one tribe lives it up in practical luxury while another tribe wastes away with nothing. Sound the same? Seems like it.

Once again, Ravu can't get it together & lose both the reward & immunity challenge. Uhh ... YEAH! They've been eating coconut and water for 14 days and that's it. I couldn't eat coconus and water as a snack. I'd be lookin for the Chips Ahoy seconds later. Devoid of nourishment, they paled in comparison to the dominant Moto tribe. During the reward challenge, Moto's resident bad boy Dreamz got a little too cocky for Rocky's liking. Rocky challenged Dreamz to a physical matchup but got his ass tossed in the water pretty much before Jeff could utter the words "Survivors ready!" It's sad when their best physical competitor is Yao Man. What is that about & why is he still in the game?

After losing immunity, Ravu foolishly voted out Rita. Thank God for next week's preview. I was never happier to hear Jeff utter the words: "Drop your buffs". A merge? False. Not on Day 17. More like a switching up of tribes. And who's going back to the beach of luxury? I sure hope Rocky gets to pay it a visit. He could use a sandwich. Or nine. Switching up tribes has only been done once before during Survivor All-Stars. That would be when my all-time favorite player Boston Rob made a deal with Lex to save Amber after they were separated ... and it worked! I'm a dork. Rita? The tribe has spoken.

LC Made The Right Move

In a not-so-surprising turn of events, former Laguna Beach & The Hills star (and I use that term loosely) Jason Wahler has been arrested yet AGAIN ... yes, for the second time this month. Three weeks ago, he was first arrested & charged with the following counts: disorderly conduct, posession of a controlled substance (what??? Jason does DRUGS???), and resisting arrest with bribery. Clearly, Wahler didn't learn his lesson because he was arrested AGAIN for misdemeanor battery. Now, last year Jason found himself in the company of the LAPD for punching a city worker and a tow truck driver in 2006. Hey, we all hate having our cars towed but who attacks the driver?! He was sentenced to 2 months in prison for that move. Was I the only one screaming at the tube last year - "LC! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING???!!" I think she heard me. Too bad Wahler's 20 ... he could've been on "Juvies".

ANTM: Back To High School (3/7/07)

Last night's episode of ANTM took the girls back to high school for both their challenge and their photo shoot. Miss J was in all her glory dressed up like a catholic school girl. Some of the girls found it weird but I should remind them that Miss J has a fiercer walk than any of them! She also donned a band uniform and this 80s prom dress:

Their challenge was to rock the runway in a prom-themed fashion show for high school students. It was bad enough that Jaslene ran her mouth about how great she was and then screwed up her entire time on stage. But when Sarah's boobs fell out & she didn't adjust? No no no, Miss Sarah! When the guest judge told her she should've covered up, she responded: "Sorry, I didn't know." Now you do. Brittany ended up winning the challenge and rightfully so. Her prize was a ridiculously large trophy about the size of her ... where is she going to put that???

Their photo shoot helped Jaslene's continued winning streak, much to the upset of many other girls. But you can't deny that Jaslene can take one hell of a picture. Now if we could only get her to stop talking:
Her name was called first followed by Felicia who took a great action shot as the school jock. In the end, Samantha was sent home for being too young & naive for the modeling world. I wish they sent Natasha home who also was in the bottom two but we can't all have our way. The combination of her cockiness mixed with her language barrier is really killin me. I think Brittany could win this whole thing but I'm going to keep rooting for Whitney or Felicia.

Has anyone seen former ANTM winners do things besides their Cover Girl commercials which apparently run only during the show? If so, send me links!
